EASY CARDI CROCHET CAL PART 1

Here we have the first ever Alt Knots CAL with the whole Ghoul Squad! I'll be posting the written version of the pattern as the tutorial as we go along. Each portion of the pattern will be released on Tuesday along with the tutorial on my channel. So you'll have option in how you want to complete it.

Also, every Thursday I will be doing a live on my channel specifically designed for CAL questions that may arise.

EASY CROCHET CARDI CAL

This pattern is worked up using measurements and not stitch count so as to make it as customizable as possible.

I am using a number 5 Bulky yarn, Caron Latte Cake Lovely Layers, and it uses a 6.5 mm crochet hook.

For reference, I measured at 26 x 16 and used 2 Caron Cakes equalling 500g and 1066 yardage.

PART 1

Using a tape measure, measure from the top of your shoulder across your chest and to the top of your other shoulder. This is the width of your entire cardi.

Next, measure from the base of your neck to the top of your thigh. This is the length of your cardi.

Lastly, measure from the top of your shoulder to right below your underarm. This is the measurement for the arm hole space you'll need.

1) Ch 1, and continue to add chains until the foundation chain reaches the length you measured. In the 2nd ch from the hook place 1 sc, 1 sc in each st across the foundation ch.

2) Ch 1 and turn, 1 sc in each stitch across.

3) Repeat row number 2 until you reach half the width of your measured cardi.

This will be the first front panel.

Form the Arm Hole

1) Ch 1 and turn, 1 sc in the first st, ch until you reach the measurement you took for the arm space, next sk the amount of stitches you chained, in the next st place 1 sc, 1 sc in each st across.

The Back Panel

2) Ch 1 and turn, 1 sc in each st across placing 1 sc in each ch st as well.

3) Repeat row number 2 until the back panel measures the width of your entire cardi that you measured.

At this point, make sure to try your cardi on before you start the second panel and make sure the fit is how you'll enjoy it. If the fit is too snug, simply add a few more rows to the back panel. If it is too loose, remove a few rows to create a more form fitting body section.

Second Front Panel

1) Ch 1 and turn, 1 sc in the first st, ch until you reach the measurement you took for the arm space, next sk the amount of stitches you chained, in the next st place 1 sc, 1 sc in each st across.

2) Ch 1 and turn, 1 sc in each stitch across.

3) Repeat row number 2 until you reach half the width of your measured cardi.

Try this killer first part on and have a celebratory cup of coffee! You just flexed your stitch crafting power and created this amazing 1st piece! You are a powerful and wonderfully creative being! Don't forget to come hang out with me on Thursday LIVE to chat yarn and any questions you have!
